Lifesavers
My dear friend needs a new heart now. Right now. His is broken. He is suspended and supported until someone no longer needs their physical machinery. Someone who marked an X in the organ donor box. Or perhaps from a family — who through the intractable pain of loss — will cherish the moment they elected to give the gift of life.
You can give something too. Take an hour away from the hustle and hoo-hah. Roll up your sleeve. Relax in the comfy chair and think good thoughts. Check your driver's license to see if you checked the donor box. Get cookies, juice, and an astounding sense of well-being for your trouble.
Here are the American Red Cross FAQs on blood donation. Decide it.
